This web site is beautifully done! My husband and I took our first trip to Tambopata last November and plan to meet with our friends and guides from the TPL soon. I recommend Andean Treks for Peruvian travel arrangements. They were great. Find them at travelon.com.

Thanks for the website... it has brought back many fond memories. I returned from a 16 month stint as a chiropractor in Lima just three months ago, and I must say that I miss it much more than I ever deemed imaginable. I had the chance to travel around quite a bit, and spent Y2K in Cusco... BRILLIANT! If anyone needs any travel info, or has some more great photos or websites, let me know.

My family is going to Peru at the end of June and trekking the Inca Trail is in our itinerary. Now I am trying to assess how dangerous the trail really is. Based on some of your correspondenses, the Dead Woman Pass and some other portions of the trail could be extremely frustrating. I love to travel, yet wouldn't call myself a thrill-seeker. Not to mention that I have no idea how to deal with vertigo. Never had to. Oh, yes, I forgot to add that I am over 30. And my teenage daughter is going with me so I am not inclined to take any chances! Thank you.
Pinkelefant - USA

Hey all you traveller's out there! Nick, awesome website! Well, I've travelled all through Europe a few years ago, and I fell in love with travelling. This summer, I'm planning a trip to South America for maybe a month or so, but I have NO CLUE on where I'd get started or anything. So if anyone out there wants to give me any tips, plans, or stories, it'd be greatly appreciated. Anything from the Inca trail, cost, transportation, language, places to stay, see, dangers, travelling alone, other sites on the net, etc. Absolutely anything and everything would be awesome. Just make sure to title the letter, "South America" in case I skip and delete it by accident. Thanks, and happy travelling!

Hi! Ever scince I was about 9 I have been so interested in Incas. When I was 3 years old I watched a cartoon, called "The Mysterious Cities of Gold" and one of the main characters was an Inca girl. So now I am 12 and I still love learning about the ancient South American cultures. If I could go anywhere in the world, it would definitly be Cuzco, Machu Piccu, Lake Titicaca, and all the other great Inca places! Great site you got here! Keep up the good work!

Hi! I'm back (see our message on 29 October 1999). The Inca Trail was the most exciting experience I've ever lived. It is wonderful!! Though sometimes it can be frustrating (especially if you haven't worked out and have to climb the Dead Woman's Pass - Lol), but no matter how hard it is, the reward is great. Get to the Sun Gate by your own means and have the whole site of Machu Picchu!!! I think I will never take the train again... My best advice: climb all the way to the top of the Huayna Picchu... You will feel as if you're on top of the world and that it's all yours!
Gianina - Lima, Peru
